About the role

Prepare cutting plans on plate and beam based on engineering drawings. Prepare nesting plans and update lists to ensure drawings are prepared according to design requirements and specifications. Work closely with production and project/engineering teams, handling all range of design detailing and drawings independently. Determine procedures and instructions to be followed according to design specifications and quality of required materials. Consult or assist engineers to carry out all production drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cutting plan on plate and beam based on engineering drawing

• Prepare nesting plan and update list

• Ensure drawings are prepared according to design requirements and specifications

• Work closely with production and project/engineering teams

• Handle all range of design detailing and drawings independently

• Determine procedures and instructions to be followed according to design specifications and quality of required materials

• Consult or assist engineers to carry out all production drawings

• Handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by superior

About you

• At least a Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• Proficiency with engineering design programs and excellent technical skills, especially with TEKLA, CAD software, AutoCAD, TurboNest, CypNest, Tube Laser, Kebei Beam Laser

• Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Independent, a good team player and able to work under pressure

• Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia—writing and speaking

• Willing to travel until the assigned project is complete
