Job Summary

The IT Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and technical delivery of IT infrastructure and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) system projects. The role involves managing and supervising the implementation of IT infrastructure, networking, structured cabling, and ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, public address, Building Management Systems (BMS), fire alarm systems, and other related installations.

The IT Project Engineer will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, and in accordance with technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution

• Manage and coordinate the end-to-end project lifecycle for IT infrastructure and ELV system projects.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and monitoring of project milestones.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential issues, risks, delays, or resource constraints, and propose appropriate solutions.
• Attend project meetings and provide regular updates on project status, progress, and technical matters.

Technical Implementation

• Plan, coordinate, configure, and deploy IT infrastructure solutions, including network equipment, servers, storage, and related systems.
• Design, supervise, and coordinate the installation and integration of ELV systems, including:
• CCTV and video surveillance systems
• Access control systems
• Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Public Address (PA) systems
• Fire alarm and detection systems
• Structured cabling systems
• Other related ELV and low-voltage systems
• Review technical drawings, specifications, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and project requirements.
• Ensure all installations and system integrations are carried out according to approved drawings, technical specifications, project requirements, and industry standards.
• Conduct system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover activities.

Site Supervision & Quality Control

• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor installation progress and workmanship.
• Supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure work is completed according to the required quality, schedule, and specifications.
• Perform quality checks and inspections during installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
• Identify installation issues or non-conformities and coordinate the necessary corrective actions.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and compliance with site requirements throughout the project.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain project-related documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, work schedules, inspection reports, test reports, and commissioning documents.
• Prepare and review technical submissions, drawings, and other project documentation where required.
• Maintain accurate records of project progress, changes, technical issues, and site activities.
• Assist in the preparation of project handover documents, including test reports, as-built drawings, manuals, and other required documentation.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all project activities comply with applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Ensure installations comply with relevant local regulations, technical standards, and project specifications.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure subcontractors and project personnel adhere to site safety requirements.

Technical Support

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during project implementation, testing, commissioning, and post-deployment stages.
• Support clients and internal teams in resolving technical issues related to IT infrastructure and ELV systems.
• Assist in system handover and provide basic technical guidance or training to customers where required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum 1* years of relevant experience* in IT infrastructure, networking, structured cabling, or ELV system projects.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, structured cabling, and ELV systems.
• Hands-on experience in the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of IT and/or ELV systems.
• Good understanding of systems such as CCTV, access control, structured cabling, BMS, public address, fire alarm, or related ELV solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, schematics, and system layouts.
• Familiarity with relevant local and international standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Good project coordination, documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel and work at project sites when required.
