Position Overview
The IT Manager is responsible for on-site IT at the Malaysia location and, as a central driving role, advances the innovative development of business processes using AI-powered tools. The position combines strategic input (identifying and evaluating AI/automation potential) with operational leadership responsibility for the local IT team and the management of external service providers, who are primarily responsible for software development.
Key Responsibilities
1. AI-Driven Process Innovation
- Identify, analyze, and innovatively advance business processes using AI-powered tools and automation.
- Monitor the market and technology landscape for AI/automation, deriving specific use cases for the site.
- Develop business cases, prioritize, and plan the roadmap for AI initiatives.
- Pilot new tools/solutions and transition successful approaches into standard operations.
2. Management of External Service Provider
- Manage, commission, and ensure the quality of external service providers responsible for the software-side implementation of projects.
- Prepare requirements/specifications, compare offers, and support contracting (in coordination with Procurement/Legal).
- Track projects and deadlines, accept deliverables, ensure quality and documentation.
- Manage interfaces between service providers and internal business units/IT team.
3. Leadership of the Local IT Team
- Provide functional and/or disciplinary leadership for the local IT staff responsible for software development and IT infrastructure.
- Plan tasks and capacity, prioritizing between day-to-day operations and innovation projects.
- Develop team members, particularly in the use of AI-powered tools.
- Ensure operation, maintenance, and security of the existing IT infrastructure (together with the infrastructure team).
4. Stakeholder & Interface Management
- Ensure smooth collaboration between the local site, group IT, and external partners.
- Provide regular reporting to management/group IT on progress, risks, and results
- Change management: introduce new tools and processes to business units, train users.
5. Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with data protection, IT security, and regulatory requirements when using AI tools and external service providers.
Requirements Profile
Education/Qualification
- Completed degree in computer science, business informatics, or comparable qualification, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in IT, ideally including initial leadership or project management experience.
- Experience managing external IT service providers/software development partners (contract, project, and quality management).
- Practical experience with AI-powered tools or the digitalization/automation of business processes is an advantage. Knowledge of IT infrastructure (network, systems) to provide functional guidance to the local infrastructure team.

- Strong communication and negotiation skills when dealing with service providers and international stakeholders.
- Leadership skills, ability to delegate, and cross-cultural competence (international group environment).
- Independent, structured way of working with a high level of initiative in identifying new AI related topics Languages.
Success Criteria
- Number and impact of implemented AI/automation use cases in the site's business processes. Adherence to budget, schedule, and quality targets for software projects implemented by external service providers.
- Stable and secure operation of the local IT infrastructure and ongoing development of the local IT team.
- Acceptance and active use of newly introduced AI-powered tools by the business units on site.
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
