About HNL
HNL Products (M) Sdn. Bhd. is an established Malaysian snack manufacturer with more than 20 years of experience. Through our HNL Snek brand, we manufacture and distribute a wide range of Malaysian snacks, including nuts, muruku, crackers, kerepek and other traditional favourites.
As our business and product range continue to develop, we are looking for a responsible and hands-on Packing Supervisor to lead our packing team and strengthen our daily packing operations.
This is a floor-based supervisory position. You will be responsible for ensuring that the right products are packed correctly, safely and on time while maintaining productivity, quality, hygiene and accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and organise daily packing activities according to production schedules, sales orders, stock requirements and delivery deadlines.
- Supervise, guide and coordinate a team of approximately eight packing operators.
- Assign manpower to packing lines and workstations based on daily priorities and available resources.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate output targets, packing requirements and quality expectations clearly.
- Monitor daily packing output and take immediate action when production falls behind schedule.
- Ensure that the correct product, packaging material, label and product specification are used for every packing job.
- Verify net weight, batch number, manufacturing date, expiry date, coding, sealing quality and packaging appearance.
- Carry out proper line clearance during product, flavour, size or packaging changes to prevent mix-ups.
- Ensure all packed products meet the company’s quality and food-safety requirements before transfer to finished-goods storage.
- Monitor the operation of weighing equipment, filling machines, sealing machines, coding machines, metal detectors and other packing equipment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and promptly report machine breakdowns or abnormalities to the Maintenance team.
- Coordinate with Production, QC, Warehouse, Maintenance and Management to resolve operational problems.
- Monitor packaging-material usage and report shortages early to prevent interruptions.
- Control packaging wastage, product spillage, rejects, rework and unnecessary downtime.
- Ensure rejected or non-conforming products are properly identified, isolated and reported.
- Maintain accurate packing, output, inspection, traceability, cleaning and downtime records.
- Ensure all operators follow company SOPs, GMP, HACCP, Halal, MESTI, hygiene and food-safety requirements.
- Enforce proper personal hygiene, protective clothing, housekeeping and workplace-safety practices.
- Train new and existing operators on work instructions, packing standards, food safety and machine operation.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, discipline, work performance and adherence to break times.
- Arrange overtime or manpower changes when required to meet operational deadlines.
- Investigate packing errors, customer complaints and repeated quality issues, and assist in implementing corrective action.
- Recommend practical improvements to increase output, reduce wastage and create a more organised packing workflow.
- Maintain a clean, safe and audit-ready packing area.
- Carry out other related production and packing duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Minimum SPM, STPM, Certificate or Diploma in Manufacturing, Food Technology, Operations Management or a related field.
- At least 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, food production, FMCG or packing operations.
- Previous experience as a Packing Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Line Leader or Senior Operator is strongly preferred.
- Experience supervising production or packing operators is required.
- Familiarity with food manufacturing, GMP, HACCP, Halal, MESTI or traceability systems will be an advantage.
- Able to plan manpower, set work priorities and monitor daily output.
- Able to read and follow product specifications, packing instructions and SOPs accurately.
- Basic knowledge of packing machines, sealing equipment, coding machines and weighing equipment is preferred.
- Able to use basic Microsoft Excel and complete production records accurately.
- Able to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia. Basic English will be useful.
- Willing to work overtime or shifts when operationally required.
- Physically able and willing to work in a factory and packing-floor environment.
The Person We Are Looking For
You may be suitable for this position if you:
- Are organised, responsible and attentive to detail.
- Can lead operators firmly while treating people respectfully.
- Take action when problems occur instead of waiting for instructions.
- Are particular about product weight, sealing, coding, cleanliness and packaging appearance.
- Can remain calm when orders are urgent, manpower is short or machines encounter problems.
- Communicate delays and risks early and honestly.
- Are willing to be present on the packing floor and lead by example.
- Want to improve productivity and develop a long-term career in manufacturing operations.
How Success Will Be Measured
Your performance will be evaluated based on:
- Achievement of daily packing schedules and output targets.
- On-time completion of products required for delivery.
- Packing accuracy and reduction of labelling, coding and weight errors.
- Reduction of rejects, rework, packaging wastage and machine downtime.
- Accuracy and completeness of production and traceability records.
- Packing-team attendance, discipline, productivity and training.
- Compliance with hygiene, food-safety and workplace-safety requirements.
- Cleanliness and organisation of the packing area.
What We Offer

- EPF, SOCSO and EIS contributions.
- Overtime payment where applicable.
- Practical exposure to food manufacturing and FMCG operations.
- Opportunity to lead and develop an established packing team.
- Opportunity for career progression as the company strengthens and expands its operations.
