Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Safety Management

  • Supervise daily site activities to ensure compliance with company safety standards, project requirements, and Malaysian OSH regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety observations to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
  • Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing HIRADC/HIRARC, JHA/JSA, Method Statements, and Safe Work Procedures.
  • Monitor safety controls for high-risk work activities.

2. Permit-to-Work (PTW) Management

  • Verify that required permits are obtained and approved before work begins.
  • Monitor PTW compliance for:
  • Hot Work
  • Work at Height
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Excavation / Breaking-In
  • Lifting & Hoisting
  • Electrical Isolation / LOTO
  • Ensure permit conditions and safety controls remain in place throughout work execution.

3. Contractor & Subcontractor Safety Management

  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with company EHS requirements.
  • Verify workers' competency certificates, licenses, and required qualifications.
  • Ensure workers complete safety induction, toolbox briefings, and relevant training.
  • Review contractor risk assessments, safety documents, and work procedures before work commencement.
  • Coordinate with project and contractor teams to ensure safe execution of site activities.

4. Site Inspection & Monitoring

  • Conduct daily site walkthroughs, inspections, and safety observations.
  • Monitor activities involving scaffolding, ladders, lifting equipment, electrical work, confined spaces, and work at height.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safe access are maintained.
  • Ensure emergency exits, access routes, firefighting equipment, and emergency facilities remain accessible and functional.

5. Safety Training & Communication

  • Conduct toolbox meetings, pre-job safety briefings, and safety awareness sessions.
  • Communicate safety requirements, alerts, lessons learned, and preventive measures.
  • Promote incident reporting, hazard identification, and Safety Good Catch initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among workers, contractors, and site teams.

6. Incident Investigation

  • Participate in investigations of accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences.
  • Collect relevant evidence and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Track corrective actions through to closure and verify their effectiveness.

7. Emergency Preparedness & Response

  • Support emergency drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Ensure emergency response equipment is available, accessible, and properly maintained.
  • Support Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities when required.
  • Coordinate initial emergency response at site until additional support arrives.

8. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of safety inspections, PTW, training attendance, toolbox meetings, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports and other required EHS documentation.
  • Maintain safety and compliance records required by DOSH, CIDB, clients, and company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Registered Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) recognized by CIDB is preferred.
  • Valid CIDB Green Card is required/preferred.
  • Additional certifications are an advantage:
  • AESP – Authorized Entrant & Standby Person
  • AGTES – Authorized Gas Tester & Entry Supervisor
  • Work at Height Supervisor
  • Scaffolding Inspector / Supervisor
  • First Aider / BOFA
  • Fire Fighting / Emergency Response Training

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in construction, industrial projects, facilities, maintenance, or site safety.
  • Hands-on experience in contractor and subcontractor safety management.
  • Experience in monitoring high-risk activities and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Malaysian Occupational Safety & Health and CIDB requirements.
  • Strong site presence with good communication and coordination skills.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,200.00 per month
