Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Relations Manager to lead IR strategy, employee relations and compliance. The role will manage complex IR matters and provide advice and training to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement industrial relations strategies and policies.
- Manage grievances, disciplinary cases, misconduct and employee disputes.
- Lead union engagement, collective bargaining and negotiations.
- Advise senior management on employment law, IR risks and employee relations.
- Conduct training on disciplinary management, dispute resolution and IR compliance.
- Lead IR projects, trend analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure strong IR governance and regulatory compliance.
- Lead, coach and develop the IR team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations or a related field.
- 8–10 years of progressive HR/IR experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong hands-on IR experience is essential, particularly in unionised environments.
- Candidates with a manufacturing or industrial background are strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment and industrial relations laws.
- Proven experience in collective bargaining, disciplinary matters, grievance handling and government liaison.
- Strong negotiation, facilitation, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience providing IR advisory and training to senior management.
- Willing to relocate for the role.
