MRT Corp is seeking an experienced Engineer, Industrial Collaboration Program (ICP) & Railway Scheme to support the Penang Mutiara Line Railway Systems team.
The Engineer will act as the dedicated Industrial Collaboration Program coordinator for the Railway Systems Department while supporting Railway Scheme updates.
The role will work closely with the Technology Depository Agency (TDA) and MRT Corp Procurement teams to monitor, support, track and facilitate the successful execution and delivery of ICP project milestones and contractual obligations by the System Turnkey Contractors and Work Package Contractors.
The Engineer will also help ensure that the Railway Scheme is updated as required to reflect changes to railway systems.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day coordination of Railway Systems ICP projects.
- Serve as the central channel for communication and coordination among Railway Systems teams.
- Collaborate with MRT Corp Procurement and TDA on ICP management.
- Work closely with the coordinator on required updates to the Railway Scheme relating to Railway Systems.
- Maintain progress trackers for contractor ICP obligations and ensure activities align with the approved master schedule.
- Review and compile compliance documentation, reports and evidence packages submitted by System Turnkey Contractors and Work Package Contractors.
- Support verification of Outcome-Based Approach projects and ICP credit values.
- Assist in organising ICP progress meetings, audit sessions and validation workshops.
- Record and follow up meeting minutes and action items.
- Execute administrative and technical tasks delegated by the Senior Manager.
- Prepare structured status updates for management review.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Railway System Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or equivalent to second class upper.
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional working experience, with at least 2 years in project coordination, procurement support or project tracking within an engineering/infrastructure environment.
- Direct experience or good knowledge of the Malaysian Industrial Collaboration Program framework, offset programs, technology transfer or TDA compliance processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent administrative, document-control and tracking competencies using spreadsheets or management software.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills suitable for managing multi-stakeholder relationships.
- Sound understanding of project-management principles, procurement structures and the ICP governance framework.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of maintaining smooth collaboration with external audit and procurement agencies.
