Full Time Technician, Product Engineering Jobs, Salary up to MYR 2,500 in Rectifier Technologies (M) Johor - Maukerja

Job Summary

The Technician, Product Engineering provides technical and administrative support to the Product Engineering team in product setup, production engineering, product development, testing, and manufacturing process improvement.

The role is responsible for preparing and maintaining BOM (Bill of Material), BOO (Bill of Operation), and PM (Production Model) in the SAP system to ensure accurate product and production data is available for manufacturing activities.

The role also supports MSE (Manufacturing Standard/Standard Time Evaluation) activities by identifying and establishing the standard time required to complete production operations and determine the time consumed to produce the required output. The position works closely with Product Engineering, Production, QA/QC, and other relevant departments to ensure product and process information is accurate and properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP Product & Production Data Setup

• Prepare and maintain BOM (Bill of Material) in SAP based on approved product specifications, drawings, and engineering requirements.
• Prepare and maintain BOO (Bill of Operation) in SAP according to the required manufacturing processes and sequence of operations.
• Create and maintain PM (Production Model) in SAP to support production planning and manufacturing activities.
• Ensure BOM, BOO, and PM information is accurate and updated according to the latest engineering changes.
• Verify that components, quantities, operations, and relevant production information are correctly reflected in SAP.
• Assist in implementing engineering changes and updating SAP master data accordingly.
• Identify and report discrepancies between engineering documentation, SAP data, and actual production processes.

2. MSE / Standard Time Study

• Conduct time studies to determine the time required to perform individual production operations.
• Identify the time consumed to produce a specific product or output.
• Establish and maintain standard operation times based on actual production processes and engineering requirements.
• Collect production process data and analyze cycle times for relevant operations.
• Work with Production and Engineering teams to verify actual process times and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Update MSE-related information and standard times when there are changes to the product, process, manpower, equipment, or production method.
• Support productivity and capacity analysis by providing accurate operation time data.

3. Product Engineering Support

• Assist Product Engineers in product development, modification, and improvement activities.
• Support prototype, sample, and engineering builds.
• Assist in preparing components, materials, tools, and equipment required for engineering builds.
• Support product testing and validation activities.
• Record and maintain test results and engineering-related data.
• Assist engineers in investigating product and production-related technical issues.

4. Production Technical Support

• Provide technical support to Production during product assembly, testing, and manufacturing activities.
• Assist in investigating production issues and identifying possible causes.
• Support trial runs and implementation of new or revised processes.
• Assist Production in understanding engineering requirements, process sequences, and revised work instructions.
• Identify discrepancies between the documented process and actual production practices and report them to the relevant engineer.

5. Engineering Documentation & Change Control

• Maintain engineering documentation, including BOM, BOO, PM, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Assist in the implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and other engineering changes.
• Ensure the latest approved engineering information is reflected in SAP and relevant production documentation.
• Maintain proper records of engineering changes, product configurations, and process information.

6. Testing & Troubleshooting

• Assist in performing electrical and functional tests according to approved procedures and specifications.
• Support basic troubleshooting of electrical/electronic products and assemblies.
• Use appropriate test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other engineering test equipment where required.
• Assist engineers in failure analysis and verification of corrective actions.
• Record and report test and troubleshooting results.

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Product Engineering, Production, QA/QC, Test, Warehouse, and other relevant departments.
• Obtain accurate production information required for BOM, BOO, PM, and MSE preparation.
• Participate in production trials, process reviews, and improvement activities.
• Communicate technical issues and discrepancies to the relevant engineer or supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma / Certificate in Electronic & Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1–3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may be considered.
• Basic knowledge of electronic and electrical circuits.
• Able to read and understand electrical schematics, PCB/PCBa drawings, engineering drawings, and product specifications.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.
• Understanding of BOM, manufacturing processes, and production routing is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of time study, cycle time, productivity, and manufacturing processes.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail, particularly when handling engineering and SAP data.
• Willing to work closely with Production and spend time on the production floor to understand actual manufacturing processes.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with different departments

Pay: RM2,100.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
