Our client is an established Malaysian manufacturing company specializing in steel and metal-related products, with a strong focus on quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
The Production Manager will oversee the company’s manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and cost objectives are consistently achieved. The role will lead the production team and drive improvements in productivity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee daily production activities to achieve output and delivery targets.
- Manage production manpower, materials, machinery, and overall workflow.
- Lead, motivate, and develop production supervisors and operators.
- Monitor production performance, quality, downtime, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Quality, Procurement, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor production costs, material usage, and inventory levels.
- Analyse KPIs such as OEE, downtime, output, and productivity.
- Prepare production reports and recommend improvements to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production/manufacturing management.
- Strong experience in production planning, manpower management, and process improvement.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, OEE, quality, and safety practices.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
