Responsibilities
1) Regional Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage the Machining Division operations across Malaysia and Singapore plants.
- Ensure operational alignment between both sites to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) targets.
- Drive operational consistency, production efficiency, and best practice sharing across plants.
2) Strategic Business Leadership
- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the Machining Division aligned with SAM Group’s long-term business objectives.
- Drive business growth, operational scalability, and margin improvement.
- Support new business opportunities and capability expansion across regional operations.
3) Manufacturing & Process Excellence
- Oversee CNC machining operations, process engineering, manufacturing technologies, and capacity planning.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives across both plants.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to optimize productivity, cycle time, and manufacturing cost.
4) Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to customer requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain strong quality management systems and operational controls across both facilities.
- Drive improvements in product quality, process reliability, and manufacturing performance.
5) Financial & Performance Management
- Manage divisional P&L, operational budgets, and capital investments.
- Monitor key operational KPIs including productivity, OEE, cost per part, yield, and on-time delivery.
- Implement cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.
6) Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with key customers to support technical discussions, manufacturing capability, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with commercial teams on business development, costing strategy, and capacity planning.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and strategic suppliers.
7) Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team across Malaysia and Singapore.
- Strengthen leadership capability within plant management teams.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing or precision engineering industry.
- At least 8–10 years in senior leadership roles managing machining operations.
- Proven experience managing multi-site manufacturing operations or regional plants.
- Strong background in CNC machining, precision engineering, aerospace, semiconductor, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
