Job Purpose
Responsible for preparing, checking, editing and finalising customer artwork and print-ready files according to job specifications. Ensure all artwork is technically correct and suitable for the printing and finishing processes while maintaining quality, accuracy and production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Artwork Preparation
- Receive and review artwork from customers, Sales or relevant departments.
- Prepare and amend artwork according to customer requirements and job specifications.
- Ensure artwork dimensions, bleed, crop marks, resolution, fonts and colour settings are correct.
- Convert and prepare files into appropriate print-ready formats such as PDF.
- Prepress & Print Production
- Perform preflight checks on artwork before releasing jobs to production.
- Prepare artwork according to the requirements of printing machines and finishing processes.
- Perform imposition and arrange pages according to the required printing, folding, cutting and binding specifications.
- Ensure artwork is suitable for different printing processes, including offset, digital and other applicable processes.
- Colour Management
- Check CMYK, Pantone and other colour specifications.
- Ensure colours are prepared according to customer requirements and company printing standards.
- Identify potential colour or image issues before production.
- Coordinate with the printing team when colour adjustments are required.
- Artwork Checking & Quality Control
- Check text, images, page sequence, dimensions, colour, margins, bleed and other artwork elements.
- Identify missing fonts, low-resolution images, overprint issues, trapping problems and other prepress errors.
- Ensure the final artwork matches the approved proof or customer specification.
- Take appropriate action when artwork discrepancies are identified.
- Production Coordination
- Liaise with Sales, Customer Service, Production and Printing/Finishing departments regarding artwork requirements.
- Clarify technical artwork issues with customers or relevant departments when necessary.
- Provide technical support to production when artwork-related problems occur.
- Make urgent artwork amendments when required to avoid production delays.
- File & Document Management
- Maintain proper records of customer artwork, revised files and final approved artwork.
- Follow the company's naming, filing and document-control procedures.
- Ensure only the latest approved artwork is released for production.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer artwork and company information.
- Machine & Production Requirement
- Understand the technical requirements and limitations of printing and finishing machines.
- Prepare artwork according to paper size, printing size, cutting size, folding, binding and finishing requirements.
- Work closely with machine operators and production personnel to resolve artwork-related issues.
- Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Follow company SOPs, work instructions and quality procedures.
- Comply with company requirements relating to ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
- Report artwork or production risks that may affect product quality.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices within the department.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring artwork and prepress errors and recommend improvements.
- Improve artwork checking and prepress processes to reduce production errors and rework.
- Keep updated with printing technology, software and prepress practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Certificate in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, Multimedia, DTP or related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in DTP, prepress or printing manufacturing is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge may be considered.
- Experience in a printing manufacturing environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of printing processes such as offset, digital printing, cutting, folding and binding is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
- Good knowledge of Adobe Acrobat / PDF preflight.
- Knowledge of:
- CMYK & Pantone colour
- Bleed and crop marks
- Resolution and image quality
- Fonts and text handling
- Overprint / trapping
- PDF/X standards
- Imposition
- Prepress workflow
- Able to read and understand printing specifications and production requirements.

Pay: RM1,900.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
