Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an M&E Quantity Surveyor based in Gelugor. The M&E Quantity Surveyor will prepare and review bills of quantities (BOQ) for mechanical and electrical works, including air conditioning, ventilation, ducting, piping, and related systems. The role involves estimating project costs, preparing tender documents, evaluating contractor quotations, and assisting in contract negotiations. The individual will monitor ongoing project costs, track variations, and prepare regular cost reports to ensure projects remain within approved budgets. Daily tasks also include coordinating with project managers, engineers, and suppliers, verifying progress claims, and supporting final account preparation and project close-out.

Qualifications

  • Strong cost control and cost management skills to manage project budgets and financial performance.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing BOQ and cost planning for M&E building projects.
  • Experience in cost reporting, including progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
  • Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of M&E systems (HVAC, ventilation, piping, electrical) and relevant industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, preferably with experience in computer-aided design or related software.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project teams, contractors, and clients.
  • Ability to work and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
