Manage and oversee building maintenance and services, including servicing of lifts, dumbwaiters, passenger and cargo lifts, toilets, and non-production areas such as

offices, labs, corridors, lobbies, and common building areas. Ensure timely maintenance, rectification, and resolution of issues while maintaining safety, hygiene, and

operational standards. Monitor costs by raising Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and managing claims to optimize budget utilization. Provide responsive

support to ST employee by addressing complaints and service requests promptly.

The General Service Engineer is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and monitoring CAPEX projects related to facilities, utilities, civil works, and general services infrastructure. The role ensures that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Monitor the execution of CAPEX projects related to General Services, including building infrastructure, utilities, maintenance-related upgrades, and facility improvements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Review project plans, technical specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Track project progress, risks, issues, and corrective actions.
  • Support site surveys, feasibility studies, and scope definition for new CAPEX initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and engineering standards during project execution.
  • Participate in contractor selection, technical evaluation, and progress meetings.
  • Verify work completion, punch lists, and handover documentation.
  • Support cost control by tracking commitments, variations, and final expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Prepare regular project status reports and escalate critical issues when needed.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize disruption during project implementation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of facility and general service processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in general services, facilities engineering, CAPEX project coordination, or project monitoring.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or corporate facilities environments is preferred.
