Key Responsibilities
Case Management – Non-Emergency
- Provide clinical coverage for students and staff at the Health & Wellness Centre (HWC), including initial assessment and follow-up.
- Review cases with the 24/7 Assistance Centre (AC) Coordinating Doctor (CD), particularly where a medical certificate may be required or referral to the nearest medical facility is being considered.
- Document all case management activities in the clinic nurse logbook.
- Record all medication administered in the Over-the-Counter Medication Prescription Notes.
- Medication administration is limited to first-aid and over-the-counter medication and does not include prescription medication.
Case Management – Emergency
- Respond promptly to work-related and non-work-related medical emergencies by proceeding to the incident location while the local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are being activated.
- The Assistance Centre will activate the local EMS. If the nurse is attending to the casualty and unable to contact the Assistance Centre, a designated person must escalate the case accordingly.
- Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and first-aid treatment for emergency medical cases, including critical-care and trauma cases.
- Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), where required.
- The scope does not include intravenous insertion or the administration of cardiac medication.
- Stabilize the casualty, with support from the Assistance Centre Coordinating Doctor, in accordance with first-aid procedures until the ambulance arrives.
- Provide a complete clinical handover to the attending ambulance nurse or paramedic.
- Follow up on the patient’s condition at the hospital through the Assistance Centre Coordinating Doctor.
Case Management – Work-Related Cases
- Perform the case-management responsibilities described above.
- Provide initial assessment and treatment for work-related injuries or illnesses in accordance with Shattuck St. Mary’s applicable protocols.
- Notify the Supervisor and Site HSE Manager, where applicable, of any work-related injury, illness or case-management matter by telephone or email.
Emergency Response Training
- Support the Emergency Response Team (ERT) by providing emergency-response training.
- Participate in evacuation drills and attend pre-drill and post-drill meetings, where required.
- Submit a post-drill report to the BB Supervisor.
- Develop educational materials and conduct medical training as required.
Medical File Management
- Establish individual medical files for students and staff.
- Maintain student and staff health records in accordance with International SOS policies and procedures.
Clinic Maintenance
- Ensure quality control of clinic and first-aid equipment.
- Maintain appropriate medical supplies and equipment within the approved first-aid scope.
- Ensure the Health & Wellness Centre is clean and properly maintained.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure medications have not expired and all medical equipment is ready for use.
- Maintain accurate monthly medication inventory records and notify Occupational Health promptly when replenishment is required.
Wellness Programmes
- Assist in developing and implementing health and wellness activities for students, including health talks, basic counselling and other educational initiatives.
- Support communications and promotional activities for wellness events.
- Develop and deliver wellness education programmes for employees, including presentation materials and self-care classes.
Medical Waste Disposal
- Coordinate the proper disposal of medical waste by the appointed vendor.
- Ensure all medical-waste disposal records and supporting documentation are properly maintained.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct weekly self-audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist with the medical and first-aid preparation for school trips.
- Participate in school events where appropriate and when requested.
- Liaise with families, healthcare providers and school staff regarding student health matters.
- Assist with cafeteria hygiene audits, where required.
- Keep the Shattuck St. Mary’s administration informed of health concerns that may affect the school community.
- Provide advice and support in implementing an appropriate school response to health-related concerns.

Required Work Experience
- At least three (3) years of experience providing medical services at a remote site.
- Experience in delivering practical training to individuals and groups.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Valid and current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Registered as a nurse with the Nursing Board, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
Required Language
- Proficiency in English is essential.
Pay: RM300.00 per day
