Job Summary
We are seeking a QA Engineer to oversee quality assurance activities for plastic injection molding operations. You will focus on process control, defect prevention, root cause analysis, mold trials, and maintaining high quality standards across production, new product introductions (NPI), and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities
- Process Quality Control: Monitor daily injection molding process quality, enforce parameter standards, and drive yield improvements and scrap reduction.
- Defect Analysis & Problem Solving: Lead investigations for plastic molding defects ( warpage, flash, sink marks, weld lines, short shots) using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone root cause analysis.
- Quality System & Documentation: Prepare and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow charts, Work Instructions, inspection standards, and track process capability ($Cp/Cpk$).
- NPI & Mold Qualification: Participate in mold trials, First Article Inspection (FAI) evaluations, process setup, and engineering validation before mass production.
- Corrective Actions & Coordination: Drive CAPA initiatives, collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Tooling, SQE, and Customer Quality teams, and support customer audits.
Job Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Polymer/Plastic Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in Quality Engineering / QA, preferably within a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment.
- Core Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of injection molding parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, cooling time) and defect troubleshooting.
- Quality Methodologies: Proficient in 7 QC Tools, 8D, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, and CAPA.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
- Key Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, proficiency in MS Office for technical reporting, and effective cross-functional communication.
Working days: Monday - Friday
Working hours: 8.30am - 6.00pm
