- Experience: 5–8 years Reporting To: Finance Manager / Chief Financial Officer Job Purpose We are looking for a qualified and experienced Malaysian Accountant to manage dayto-day accounting operations, financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, and financial controls. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information while maintaining compliance with applicable Malaysian accounting, tax, and statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities 1. Accounting & Financial Reporting • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and journal entries. • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports. • Ensure accurate recording and classification of financial transactions. • Monitor financial performance and provide analysis of significant variances. • Maintain proper books of accounts and supporting documentation. 2. Malaysian Statutory & Tax Compliance • Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian accounting and statutory requirements. • Coordinate preparation and submission of corporate tax, SST and other applicable statutory returns. • Liaise with tax consultants, auditors, company secretaries and relevant government authorities as required. • Ensure timely compliance with requirements of LHDN, SSM, EPF, SOCSO, EIS and other applicable regulatory bodies. • Keep abreast of changes in Malaysian tax laws, accounting standards and regulatory requirements. 3. Audit & Compliance • Coordinate statutory and internal audits. • Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation. • Address auditor queries and ensure timely closure of audit observations. • Maintain appropriate internal controls and identify areas for improvement. • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls and approval procedures. 4. Budgeting & Financial Planning • Assist in preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections. • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis. • Support management in financial planning and cost-control initiatives. 5. Payroll & Employee-Related Accounting • Coordinate with HR/payroll teams for accurate accounting of salaries, statutory contributions and employee-related expenses. • Ensure appropriate accounting and reconciliation of EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB and other applicable payroll liabilities. 6. Cash & Working Capital Management • Monitor cash flows, bank balances and working capital requirements. • Review receivables and payables and support timely collections and payments. • Prepare regular bank and balance-sheet reconciliations. 7. Management Support • Provide timely financial information and insights to management for decisionmaking. • Develop financial MIS and other reports as required. • Support process improvements, automation and strengthening of financial controls. Qualification & Experience • ICA / ICWA qualified or equivalent professional accounting qualification. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline preferred. • 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with experience in Malaysia. • Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting, taxation and statutory compliance requirements.
