Business Controller
to join the regional team to set up the FP&A function for the group. This role would be instrumental to formulate the growth strategies and targets.
Job Description
This position is critical to support the region's growth and strategy formulation. You would be required to set up the regional FP&A process including beefing up the existing budget and sales forecast process and building dashboards to bring about visibility on financials and performance metrics. You will be a key finance business partner to Head of Sales and Operations in driving profitability performance within each region and provide analysis/insights to guide decision making. This includes scenario planning, gap analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue improvements as well as pricing advice. You will participate in adhoc projects for process improvements as part of company's growth.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate should possess a Degree in Accountancy or equivalent with more than 8 years of relevant business controlling/FP&A experience, partnering with commercial stakeholders in the recent years. You possess strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from different functional teams. You need to be well-versed with MS Excel and PowerPoint tools. You are highly motivated and self-starter with a strong desire to grow.

Job Responsibilities
. Reports to the Singapore Financial Controller and will be the main finance business partner to the assigned operational Business Units.
. Lead Business Line budgeting and forecasting processes for the Business Units assigned to the Business Controller.
. Lead the month-end financial closing process for internal management reporting.
. Ensure accuracy & timely submission of order books (work performed in the month) maintained by Business Units to determine accounting accruals (revenue/costing) for the proper accounting cut-off during the month-end closing.
. Advise and implement process improvement measures for Business Units on resource allocation, invoicing process, revenue recognition, expense booking and other management reporting related issues.
. Collaborate with sales team on new tenders or contracts to ensure financial compliance with the company's business models.
. Partner closely with Business Line Management, operational teams, and Shared Service Center team to develop and implement strategies and initiatives that lead to continuous improvement from a financial and business control aspect.
. Develop and maintain costing models to ensure that cost drivers are understood by sales team/Business Line Management and ensure that activities are priced to recover their true cost. Review and refine pricing models/tools
. Regularly review and improve accounting policies and controls, for operations team to follow, to ensure that proper month-end closing figures are posted.
. Manage audit queries from Internal and External Auditors regarding operational transactions.
. Assist the Financial Controller with preparing materials for the Monthly Business Review Meetings, as well as other related meetings
Job Requirements
. Diploma/Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance or have an Accomplished Finance/Accounting Professional qualification (eg. ACCA)
. Having accounting knowledge is a requirement however, further on-the job training will be provided.
. 1-5 years of relevant work experience in finance/accounting, controlling, taxation or audit. More experienced candidates will be considered as well.
. Fresh degree/diploma holders are welcome to apply if they are accounting trained.
. Having a hands-on mindset and being comfortable with cross-department business interactions.
. Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (eg. VLOOKUP, moderate data cleansing, pivot tables)
. Familiar with Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
. Prior experience with SAP BPC, Oracle accounting software, VBA and Power BI would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
. Having good business report writing skills in English.
. Comfortable with accounting/financial numbers.
. Ability to work well under pressure to meet monthly deadlines and be a strong team-player.

Purpose of the role
You will be responsible as a Business Partner to the APAC sub region and work with the sub-region Operating Companies to challenge and drive the strategic agenda and finance performance with insightful business performance analysis and implementation of finance excellence initiatives. This role will also drive the finance transformation/excellence in the APAC office.
Responsibilities:
Full Finance responsibility as Finance Manager of one of two APAC sub-region and finance support to respective APAC regional MD by:
Challenge and partner the OpCo's in the execution of their Strategic agenda items
Business partnering support to OpCo Finance Directors and General Managers
Support OpCo's in the embedding of financial best practice and on any financial subjects such as: Capital Structure and Financing, Cash / Treasury Management, Tax matters and ERP systems
Ensure the basics' of financial operations are in place in all OpCos, including if applicable, BASE implementation
Monitor financial projects and provide financial support (finance models, consolidation, review) for the APAC region
Lead and deliver APAC finance excellence projects including digitalization by:

Who we look for
Masters' degree in e.g. Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Econometrics or Engineering
Proven Business Partnering experience
10 years of working experience in the area of financial and business analyses within a large international company
Experience in coordinating the reporting activities for a multi-location organization, especially APAC
Experience in Management and analysis of complex data
Ability to function as a matrix team leader, with excellent collaboration and interpersonal.
Able to work as an individual contributor to complete tasks.
A self-starter attitude and fueled by discipline to execute, with sense of ownership and accountability.
