The Mindshare Director, Data Architect role will work closely with the GroupM Nexus Commerce team. The GroupM Nexus team is a highly skilled performance marketers who drive measurable business growth for iconic brands across GroupM agencies. The Director, Data Architect will be embedded within our Mindshare agency team and leverage their experience to drive development and delivery of technical solution to support our commerce analytics requirements, specifically the underlying database and infrastructure approach. You will own the development of the solution supporting the commerce analytics requirements and assist in advancing the sophistication of our commerce measurement, reporting, and insights capability in parallel to our performance media reporting solutions.
With the proliferation of retail media networks and commerce platforms, this role presents an exciting opportunity for Mindshare. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our global commerce analytics offering, working as part of a connected team across functions and markets. The role will require a domain of the field of data engineering, including expertise in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, proficiency in ETL processes, and experience working with various big data technologies, databases (Azure SQL, SSAS and Snowflake), programming languages (.Net, SQL, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), R and Python) as well as Microsoft's PowerBI and Advanced Excel functionality for data visualisation. An entrepreneurial spirit with a bias for action and problem-solving is necessary to be successful in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
Co-Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the global strategic vision and company's overall business objectives aligning to solutions already deployed across a client's technology portfolio.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the 'commerce' data warehousing solution to support advanced analytics and key business initiatives and drive growth.
Collaborate and align with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making and develop innovative solutions to address these needs.
Oversee the management of large datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity are supplied for analysis to teams.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on key projects and initiatives.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation supporting the Commerce Data & Analytics team.
Provide thought leadership and guidance on industry best practices and emerging trends in data warehousing and business intelligence.
Collaborate closely with a high-performing team of data analysts and scientists, fostering an inclusive work environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computing, Computer Science or similar related field.
7+ years of experience in data engineering and warehouse design working with analytics and business intelligence teams, or a related field, with prior leadership experience. High preference towards delivering data engineering for a large retailer, CPG, or ecommerce business
Strong understanding and proven experience in architecting relational data models
Strong understanding and proven experience in architecting and working with ETL solutions
Understanding of use of automation, artificial intelligence for data is a plus.
Expertise in database technologies Azure SQL, SSAS and Snowflake
Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and programming languages (e.g., .Net, SQL, DAX, Python, R).
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
Understanding of advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling, segmentation, and optimization.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
