Purpose of the post Support in strengthening the department's international network of research collaborators. Provide expert advice in identifying new trends, innovations, priorities and strategies in primary care research to be aligned to the department's research mission and focus. Visiting Professor will collaborate with PI(s) and contribute to the broad research programme of the NUHS/NUS Department of Family Medicine. He/she will be able to: 1. Supporting the development of capacity building in Primary Care and Family Medicine, including: a. Contributing to the development of a MSc in Primary Health Care b. Supervision of students studying for PhD or Masters, or further developing their careers as clinician scientists, including mentoring and supervision of up to four clinical scientists. c. Enhancing the engagement in the Singapore Primary Care Research Network (pcRn) of National University Polyclinic (NUP) practitioners and western cluster private general practitioners. In particular, to establish a baseline for future evaluation which will analyse of the current membership and activity amongst practitioners in the Western region of Singapore within the network. An online survey and face-to-face interviews with the target audience will be used to develop the network to better meet their needs in research critique, implementation of evidence, and conduct of high quality of research. In particular: a. to expand the involvement NUP and GP doctors in pcRn by 50% b. to facilitate greater involvement of all medical schools in the pcRn, with research collaborations across all three. 4.
