The Medical Physicist is a physics specialist who provides services which required the application of ionizing radiation in medicine. He or She is responsible for rendering professional care to radiotherapy treatment planning, Quality assurance of equipment and radiation safety.
Treat patients undergoing radiotherapy in accordance with the treatment plan and dose prescription of the Consultant Clinical Oncologist, including operation of a linear accelerator.
Responsible for patient set-up and radiation dose delivery including patient care.
Report any suspected equipment malfunction immediately to the Unit Manager, Head of Planning and QA, Division Director or Consultant Clinical Oncologist.
