The Safety and Health Officer is to perform duties of SHO as specified in the OSHA 1994 and OSH (SHO Regulation) regulation 18, 19 and 20. The Safety and Health including statutory laws and regulations in relation to all activities in the project.

Construction safety managers inspect, enforce and control health and safety measures at construction sites. They also manage workplace accidents and take action to make sure that safety policies are correctly implemented.
Health and safety engineers design objects and programs by combining engineering principles and health and safety requirements. They envision the protection and well-being of the people using designed objects or performing work under designed health and safety programs. They assess facilities and the risks that they might pose (e.g. contaminant materials, ergonomics, handling of dangerous substances, etc.) in order to design and improve health and safety measures.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring and ensuring safety and health issues by conducting regular site observation/inspection/audit.
2. Report and propose recommendation action on any unsafe act and unsafe condition.
3. Develop safety and health programs and training by conducting briefings and toolbox meetings, promoting awareness at the construction site and et cetera.
4. Assist SHO in the development of site specifications on emergency response plans and monitor the adequacy of emergency equipment, and arrange emergency drills.
5. Assist SHO in investigating any incident that happens at the workplace.
6. Ensure all related Permits to Work (PTW) are applied, approved, and displayed clearly at the site.
7. Assist local authorities (DOSH, CIDB, Health Department and et cetera) in carrying out their duties.
8. Provide and maintain documentation related to safety and health for inspection purposes.
9. Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Management.
Requirements:
− Valid Yellow Book holder registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
− At least 3 years of working experience in site construction (preferably in infrastructure projects).
− Familiar with standard concepts and best practices for construction for both safety and administration.
− Keen intention to detail and ability to effectively manage time.
− Able to work under minimal supervision.
− Able to work 6 day-week.
− Willing to work in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.
