Early years teachers instruct students, primarily young children, in basic subjects and creative play with the aim of developing their social and intellectual skills in an informal way in preparation for future formal learning. They create lesson plans, possibly in accordance with a fixed curriculum, for an entire class or smaller groups and test the students on the content. These lesson plans, based on basic subjects, can include the instruction of number, letter, and colour recognition, days of the week, categorisation of animals and transport vehicles etc. Early years teachers also supervise students outside the classroom on school grounds and enforce rules of behaviour there as well.
Capable to teach any two subject combination such as ICT (Information & Communication Technology or Computer Science), English, Math, Science, and Tamil in Primary 1 to 5 Cambridge curriculum for students aged 5 to 10. Teaching Tamil as second language across primary level. Willing to be given lower primary grade level.
Will sit as an Advisory Teacher and Subject Teacher for other grades. Dynamic and able to teach with expertise in Cambridge/IB curriculum (with mastery in either ICT, English, Mathematics, or Tamil modules) Knowledge to teach Tamil as second language in Cambridge Curriculum is preferred.
Taking responsibility for the progress of a class of primary-age students. Organising the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment. Planning, preparing, and presenting differentiated lessons that cater the needs of the whole ability range within their class.
