Role Overview
Responsible for coordinating all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works for a hospital construction project. Ensures systems (HVAC, electrical, medical gas, plumbing, fire protection) are installed, tested, and commissioned according to design, regulatory standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate M&E works with main contractor, consultants, and subcontractors
- Review M&E drawings, shop drawings, and method statements
- Ensure integration between M&E and civil/architectural works
- Attend site meetings and resolve technical clashes
2. Site Supervision
- Monitor daily M&E installation activities on site
- Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and hospital standards
- Identify and rectify site issues, delays, and defects
- Track progress against schedule
3. Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with local authorities (BOMBA, TNB, DOSH, MOH requirements)
- Conduct inspections and ensure QA/QC procedures are followed
- Ensure materials and equipment meet specifications and approvals
4. Testing & Commissioning
- Coordinate testing & commissioning (T&C) of all M&E systems
- Ensure systems like HVAC, medical gas, fire systems, and backup power function correctly
- Liaise with consultants for inspections and approvals
5. Documentation
- Maintain proper records: RFIs, inspection reports, test reports, as-built drawings
- Prepare progress reports and update management regularly
- Ensure O&M manuals and handover documents are complete
6. Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with consultants, hospital representatives, and authorities
- Coordinate with suppliers for equipment delivery and installation
- Support project manager in meeting deadlines and cost targets
Key Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 3–7 years experience in M&E coordination (hospital project experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of hospital systems:
- HVAC (AHU, chiller systems)
- Medical gas systems
- Fire protection systems
- Electrical systems (LV/MV, gensets, UPS)
- Familiar with Malaysian regulations (BOMBA, TNB, DOSH)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
