ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet operations, transport operations, fleet maintenance coordination, workshop planning, or related roles.

PUSPAKOM arrangement, including inspection scheduling, maintenance preparation, defect rectification follow-up on failed tests, and ensuring fleet compliance.
Basic to intermediate computer literacy:

Comfortable working with fleet management systems, GPS tracking platforms, or operational software.

Basic knowledge of Malaysia transport regulations for heavy commercial vehicles:
Understanding of vehicle operating limits including permitted axle load and gross vehicle weight limits.
Familiarity with road transport rules and enforcement procedures under relevant authorities such as JPJ.
Awareness of road safety and compliance requirements for heavy vehicles, including inspection, licensing, and roadworthiness standards.
Understanding of time-based or route-based restrictions applicable to heavy vehicles (e.g. restricted routes, timing limitations where applicable).
Ability to ensure fleet operations comply with regulatory requirements and to flag non-compliance risks proactively.
BONUS (Strong advantage):
Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Fleet Management, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines.
Candidates with extensive relevant fleet management experience will be considered regardless of academic qualifications.
Strong capability in Excel-based fleet reporting and KPI tracking, including:
Fleet utilization analysis
Vehicle downtime tracking
Fuel consumption analysis and variance checks
Maintenance cost tracking per vehicle
Driver performance reporting
Daily / weekly operational dashboards
Experience building or maintaining management reports for transport/fleet operations.
Ability to automate or improve reporting processes using Excel (pivot tables, charts, filters, dashboards).

Job Purpose:
This is a high-impact operational role in a fast-moving fleet environment, where execution speed, accuracy, and problem-solving directly influence business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fleet Operations & Driver Control
Manage daily fleet deployment and ensure optimal vehicle utilization.
Monitor and control driver performance, discipline, attendance, and productivity.
Handle real-time operational issues including delays, breakdowns, and disruptions.
Ensure efficient response to operational challenges and minimize service downtime.
Maintain high operational discipline across drivers and fleet execution.
2. Fleet & Truck Availability Management (Liaison with Driver Management Team)
Provide real-time updates on truck and driver availability to the planning team.
Manage driver requests related to truck condition and repair requirements.
Assess whether reported truck issues genuinely require workshop intervention before removing vehicles from operation.
Coordinate with workshop teams for necessary inspections and repairs.
Reallocate alternative trucks to drivers when required to maintain operational continuity.
Continuously monitor fleet availability and drive improvements to minimize downtime and maximize truck utilization.
3. Maintenance & Workshop Coordination
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to maximize fleet availability.
Work closely with workshop teams to ensure timely repair and return of vehicles.
Monitor breakdown trends and reduce repeat failures through corrective actions.
Track vehicle downtime and ensure optimal workshop turnaround time.
Maintain vehicle readiness to support continuous fleet operations.
4. Handling Special & Shortage Cases
Support Driver Management team in handling operational shortage situations involving cement products (e.g. OPC / GGBS shortages), truck damages, and related disruptions such as excessive tyre wear or damage cases.
Conduct investigations and interviews with drivers involved in shortages, damages, or abnormal operational incidents.
Identify root causes of incidents and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all special case investigations.
5. Accident & Incident Management
Take full ownership of accident and incident response from reporting to closure.
Coordinate recovery, reporting, insurance documentation, and repair follow-up.
Ensure proper documentation of all incidents and compliance with procedures.
Analyse accident trends and implement preventive measures with drivers and operations teams.
6. Fleet Performance & Control
Monitor fleet performance including utilization, downtime, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs.
Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous operational improvements.
Maintain accurate fleet status tracking and operational reporting.
Support management with data-driven insights for decision making.
7. Compliance & Regulatory Control
Ensure fleet operations comply with Malaysia transport regulations and enforcement requirements.
Maintain basic understanding of vehicle compliance requirements including axle load limits, vehicle roadworthiness, and inspection standards.
Coordinate vehicle inspections with PUSPAKOM and ensure timely resolution of defects.
Ensure operational adherence to road transport rules enforced by JPJ and related authorities.
