CIVIL ENGINEERING (CONSTRUCTION - HOSPITALS)
LOCATIONS: SEREMBAN / CYBERJAYA
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing cost control, contract administration, and financial management of hospital construction projects from the client side. The Quantity Surveyor ensures project costs are properly planned, monitored, and controlled while ensuring contractors comply with contractual obligations and project specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cost Planning & Budget Control
- Prepare cost estimates, project budgets, and financial forecasts for hospital construction projects.
- Monitor project expenditure and ensure costs remain within approved budgets.
- Conduct cost analysis and advise management on cost-saving opportunities.
Tender & Procurement Management
- Prepare tender documentation including bills of quantities (BQ), specifications, and tender evaluation reports.
- Evaluate contractor tenders and provide recommendations for contractor appointment.
- Assist in procurement of contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Contract Administration
- Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Review and evaluate contractor progress claims and payment applications.
- Assess variation orders and ensure proper documentation and approval.
Project Cost Monitoring
- Monitor project financial performance and track project cost variations.
- Prepare periodic cost reports and financial updates for management.
- Review contractor submissions related to project costs.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, and engineers.
- Attend site meetings and provide advice on contractual and financial matters.
- Liaise with consultants such as architects, engineers, and medical planners.
Risk & Claims Management
- Identify potential cost risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Assess contractor claims, disputes, and variation orders.
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes when necessary.
Project Documentation
- Maintain proper contract documentation and financial records.
- Ensure proper filing of project cost documentation and correspondence.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
- Experience in civil engineering or building construction projects is required.
- Experience in hospital or healthcare construction projects is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction cost management and contract administration.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management ability.
Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of Bills of Quantities (BQ) preparation and cost estimation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost management software.
- Understanding of construction processes and hospital infrastructure requirements.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
