Responsibilities

• Machinery Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery such as conveyor belts, irrigation pumps, refrigeration systems, farm tractors, harvesters, and processing plant equipment.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery and equipment. Carry out repairs and replace defective parts as needed.
• Installation of New Equipment: Assist in installing new machinery, ensuring all equipment is set up correctly and operational.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and advice to the maintenance team, helping them to understand the operating principles and requirements of complex machinery.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines, regulations, and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all maintenance staff. This includes proper handling of tools, equipment, and machinery, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including machinery performance, parts used, and labor hours. Report findings to the Facilities Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Collaboration with Operations Team: Work closely with the operations team to schedule maintenance work around production schedules, ensuring minimal farm and processing operations disruption.
• Equipment Upgrades: Assist in the upgrading or modification of existing machinery to enhance performance, increase efficiency, and extend service life.
• Training: Provide training or guidance to junior mechanics and operators on proper maintenance practices and safe operation of machinery.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and failures, troubleshoot and repair machinery to minimize operational downtime.

Requirements

Qualification

• SKM Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Machinery Mechanics, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery, preferably in agriculture or manufacturing.

Skills

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and hand tools for machinery repairs.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve machinery issues.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety protocols and practices, particularly in relation to industrial machinery.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy machinery parts, bending, crawling, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to perform repairs and maintenance with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring all work meets Agroto’s operational standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other team members and departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of agricultural machinery such as harvesters, planters, and irrigation systems.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial machinery and automation systems.
• Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, or other heavy equipment to move machinery or parts.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills to assist in minor repairs or modifications to machinery.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 kg).
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including standing for extended periods, bending, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to work outdoors, including exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, and noise.

Working Conditions:

• Agroto’s farm, greenhouse, processing plant environments, and other on-site facilities.
• Regular work hours with the possibility of overtime or emergency callouts for critical machinery repairs or breakdowns.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
