Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Junior Data Scientist based in Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia. The Junior Data Scientist will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to uncover opportunities in company data, develop predictive models, and translate datasets into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with stakeholders across the organisation to identify opportunities to leverage company data for business solutions.
• Mine and analyse data from company databases to drive optimisation across product development, marketing, and business strategy.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Design and develop data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
• Apply predictive modelling to optimise customer experiences, revenue generation, and ad targeting.
• Develop and maintain a testing framework to ensure model quality and reliability.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
• Build processes and tools to monitor model performance and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply! A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
• Knowledge of statistical computer languages such as Python, R*, or SQL*.
• Basic understanding of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, neural networks, etc.).
• Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Exposure to statistical and data mining techniques such as GLM/Regression, Random Forest, or Boosting is an advantage.
• Familiarity with web services (Redshift, S3, Spark) or distributed computing tools (Hadoop, Hive, MySQL) is a plus.
• Exposure to third-party analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Meta Ads is an advantage.
