Role Overview

We are seeking an efficient and meticulous Account Executive to join our growing accounting team. In this role, you will manage daily transaction processing and project costing, while possessing the skills to handle a full set of accounts. You will work closely with and report to our Senior Account Colleague. This role requires a collaborative mindset, as you will cross-train to provide seamless backup support for all accounting functions—including bank reconciliations and month-end closing—ensuring department continuity at all times.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Costing & SQL System Management

  • Maintain accurate data entry and ledger updates within the SQL Accounting Software.
  • Assign specific project codes to all transactions to track individual interior design and renovation project profitability.
  • Monitor actual project expenditures against initial quotations and project budgets.

2. Accounts Receivable (AR) & Progress Billing

  • Prepare and issue progress claims, milestone billings, and official invoices to clients based on project completion stages.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up politely but firmly with clients on overdue payments to maintain healthy company cash flow.
  • Issue official receipts and update incoming payments in SQL.

3. Accounts Payable (AP) & Subcontractor Claims

  • Receive, verify, and match subcontractor claims (e.g., carpentry, wiring, wet works) and supplier invoices against purchase orders or site confirmations.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and arrange local bank transfers (as a "Maker") for approval.
  • Reconcile statement of accounts with key suppliers and subcontractors.

4. Full Set Support & Backup Duties

  • Cross-train with the present senior colleague to understand all critical accounting workflows.
  • Provide robust backup support for Bank Reconciliations, fixed asset management, and payroll processing.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheets.
  • Assist in local tax compliance duties, including SST reporting and e-Invoicing requirements using SQL features.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience handling full set accounts.
  • Industry Background: Prior experience working in Interior Design (ID), Renovation, Construction, or Engineering firms is highly advantageous. Same goes to experience equipped with managing SST compliance stands a higher chance to be shortlisted.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in SQL Accounting Software is strictly required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Attributes: Strong understanding of project-based progress billing, retention sums, and subcontractor workflows. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, numbers driven and a proactive team-player mindset willing to support colleagues.

Working hours:

Monday - Friday (8am - 6pm)

Working location: Opposite Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
