Qualifications and Experience

• Holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 3 years experience, preferably in the OEM industry or equivalent or
• A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in the OEM industry

Job Summary

Manage the development of new products and work closely with customers and the internal team on product design and specifications. Develop product sample and prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure all processes and specifications are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine customer requirements, plan and manage the product development.
• Provide information and feedback and liaise with the mould making section in the development of the moulds. Check to ensure all moulds are developed according to specifications.
• Conduct fitment trials to ensure product sample meets customer’s requirements. Address all customers’ issues and get customer’s approval on the product sample.
• Establish good customer relations to ensure continuous feedback for improvement
• Determine new product specifications and work closely with Production and QA departments during the pre-production planning and testing as well as the mass production stage. Identify potential production problems and rectify all issues and concerns before mass production.
• Ensure all Bill of Materials (BOM) on new product specifications, processes, cycle times and packing requirements are complete before production commences.
• Source and recommend materials and child parts for the development of the new product
• Coordinate material testing and evaluate reports before providing feedback to custome
• Provide details to BD in the development of pricing and quotations for new products
• Identify, recommend and lead product improvement exercises to enhance efficiency and quality
• Support and carry out responsibility assigned related to Safety, Health & Environment
