- Prepare preliminary cost estimates for construction projects.
- Develop project budgets based on drawings and specifications.
- Advise clients on construction costs and cost-saving measures.
2. Quantity Take-Off and Measurement
- Measure quantities of materials, labor, and works from construction drawings.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ).
- Calculate material requirements and construction costs.
3. Tendering and Procurement
- Prepare tender documents and contract documents.
- Invite, evaluate, and compare contractor and supplier quotations.
- Recommend suitable contractors and subcontractors.
4. Contract Administration
- Administer construction contracts.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Manage contractual correspondence and documentation.
5. Cost Control and Monitoring
- Track project expenditures against the approved budget.
- Identify cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare regular cost reports for management and clients.
6. Valuation and Progress Claims
- Assess work completed on site.
- Prepare and certify progress payments.
- Evaluate contractor and subcontractor payment claims.
7. Variation Order Management
- Evaluate changes to project scope.
- Price variation orders (VOs) and additional works.
- Negotiate costs arising from design changes or unforeseen conditions.
8. Final Account Preparation
- Reconcile all project costs upon completion.
- Negotiate and settle final accounts with contractors and subcontractors.
- Prepare project cost summaries and financial closeout reports.
9. Risk and Value Management
- Identify financial and contractual risks.
- Conduct value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality.
- Advise on procurement strategies and cost-effective solutions.
10. Site Coordination
- Attend site meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and project managers.
- Verify work progress and quantities on site.
- Coordinate cost-related issues among project stakeholders.
- Develop project budgets based on drawings and specifications.
- Advise clients on construction costs and cost-saving measures.
