Job Summary
The Kitchen Crew / Cook / Commis is responsible for assisting in food preparation, cooking, food quality control, kitchen cleanliness, and daily kitchen operations. The role ensures all food is prepared according to company standards while maintaining food safety and hygiene requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
Prepare ingredients according to recipes and operational requirements.
Cook and present food according to company standards and SOPs.
Ensure food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation are consistent.
Assist in menu preparation, food production, and daily kitchen operations.
Follow instructions from Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor.
Kitchen Operations
Ensure smooth workflow during daily operations and peak hours.
Set up and prepare kitchen stations before service.
Replenish ingredients and supplies during operations.
Minimize food wastage and practice proper stock rotation (FIFO).
Hygiene & Food Safety
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
Ensure proper storage and handling of food products.
Perform daily cleaning duties according to cleaning schedules.
Inventory & Stock Control
Assist in monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
Receive and check incoming deliveries.
Ensure ingredients are stored correctly and within expiry dates.
Assist in stock count and inventory management.
Teamwork & Compliance
Work closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure efficient operations.
Follow company SOPs, policies, and operational guidelines.
Attend training sessions and continuously improve cooking skills.
Perform other duties assigned by management when required.
