Responsibilities
1. Procurement & RFQ Management
- Prepare and issue RFQs for materials, equipment, and subcontract works related to stations, guideways, depot, utilities, and M&E/systems provisions.
- Review and analyze supplier/subcontractor quotations to ensure compliance with specifications and technical requirements.
2. Cost Comparison & Evaluation
- Prepare detailed price comparison sheets and commercial evaluations.
- Recommend suitable suppliers based on cost, delivery, and specification compliance.
3. Negotiation & Purchase Order Management
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare Letters of Award (LOA), Purchase Orders (PO), and procurement reports for management approval.
4. Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors on material readiness, manufacturing progress, and logistics planning.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery compliance, and quality of materials delivered to site.
5. Material Delivery & Documentation Control
- Track delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive on time for LRT construction sequencing.
- Verify delivery orders, invoices, material certifications, and compliance with LRT project standards (BOMBA, SIRIM, SPAN, CIDB, etc.).
6. Support to QS/Contract Team
- Provide material cost data for Variation Orders (VO), progress claims, and budgeting.
- Assist in analyzing VO pricing and validating subcontractor claims involving purchased items.
7. Cost Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor procurement cost commitments versus project budget.
- Prepare weekly and monthly procurement status reports for internal and client/PMC meetings.
8. Compliance, Quality & Safety
- Ensure all purchased materials meet QA/QC requirements and project technical specifications.
- Follow project procurement procedures, audit requirements, and internal SOP.
9. General Coordination
- Liaise with construction, engineering, planning, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure smooth procurement operations.
- Attend procurement, coordination, and supplier meetings when required.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, or Engineering.
- Minimum one year of experience in procurement or QS roles (rail project experience is an added advantage).
- Strong understanding of construction materials (civil, architectural, and M&E).
- Good negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and document management.
- Able to work in a fast-paced project environment with tight deadlines.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
