Job Summary

Plumbers install, modify, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and water-based fire protection systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Install plumbing systems including pipes, drains, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, water heaters, dishwashers, and other fixtures to ensure proper function and safety compliance
• Modify existing plumbing systems to meet updated requirements or repair needs in various settings
• Maintain plumbing systems by inspecting components and performing preventive repairs to avoid failures
• Repair plumbing systems by diagnosing issues and replacing or fixing faulty parts to restore operation
• Install and maintain water-based fire protection systems such as sprinklers and hydrants to comply with safety standards
• Inspect work sites to assess plumbing needs and identify potential challenges before starting work
• Study blueprints to determine plumbing layouts and specifications for accurate installation and repair
• Determine and procure necessary materials and equipment for each plumbing job to ensure timely completion
• Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes accurately to fit system requirements and ensure leak-free connections
