Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Professional Qualification: ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or a Malaysian equivalent (e.g., MICPA / MIA membership) preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant finance and tax experience, with hands-on experience in Malaysian corporate finance and taxation; experience with Singaporean companies is an advantage.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiar with the Malaysia Income Tax Act 1967, Sales Tax Act 2018 / Service Tax Act 2018, Customs Act 1967, and MFRS accounting standards.
Practical, hands-on experience in corporate tax, SST filing, import tax and customs duties, and full-set accounts.
Knowledge of the Singapore Income Tax Act 1947 and GST regulations is a plus.
Language: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu; proficiency in Chinese preferred for handling bilingual financial documents.
Other: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, AutoCount, or similar) and MS Excel; detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work independently as well as within a team
Responsibilities
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take full ownership of the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance in Malaysia. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across corporate tax, SST, import tax and customs duties, withholding tax, and full-set accounts, and is comfortable with cross-border (Malaysia–Singapore) exposure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the company’s daily accounting, bookkeeping, and the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and company policies.
Execute all tax filing requirements of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN), including but not limited to Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Monthly Tax Deduction (PCB/MTD), and Withholding Tax.
Handle Sales and Service Tax (SST) registration, computation, filing, and payment, ensuring returns are accurate and submitted on time.
Manage import tax and customs duties with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM), including import/export documentation, duty and tax computation, and compliance with the Customs Act 1967.
Understand the tax policies of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) and assist with cross-border tax and GST compliance matters.
Take responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and annual tax declarations, ensuring the timely and accurate fulfilment of all tax obligations.
Support financial audits and tax investigations/audits, including the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
Monitor changes in Malaysian and Singaporean tax and financial regulations, assess their impact on the business, and provide practical compliance recommendations.
