The key roles of the Accountant involve supporting the financial reporting, consolidation, and regulatory compliance functions of group and/or individual entity.

The Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial statements at both entity and Group level, including statutory reporting obligations arising from the Group's status as a company listed on Bursa Malaysia.

Job Requirements

Education
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.

Professional Qualification
• Possession of, or working towards, a recognized professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MICPA, or ICAEW, with active membership under the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Experience
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in financial accounting, with prior exposure to a Bursa Malaysia listed company or Group consolidation environment being an added advantage.

Technical Knowledge
• Sound knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Companies Act 2016, and Bursa Malaysia Main Market Listing Requirements.

Systems Proficiency
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, ERP, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with XBRL and Bursa LINK submission is an advantage.

Attention to Detail
• Strong analytical skills with high accuracy in handling financial data, reconciliations, and consolidation adjustments.

Communication & Teamwork
• Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, and cross-functional teams within the Group.

Integrity
• High level of integrity and professionalism, given the sensitivity and confidentiality of financial and corporate information.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

• Group Consolidation: Prepare consolidated financial statements for the Group, including elimination of intercompany transactions and balances, minority interest computation, and consolidation adjustments in accordance with MFRS/IFRS.

• Bursa Malaysia Reporting: Prepare quarterly financial results (Appendix 9B) and annual audited financial statements for submission to Bursa Malaysia within the prescribed timeframes under the Main Market Listing Requirements.

• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and notes to the accounts.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with MFRS, Companies Act 2016, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, and other applicable statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.

• Annual Report Support: Assist in the preparation of financial sections of the Annual Report, including notes to the financial statements, in coordination with the Company Secretary and external auditors.

• Audit Coordination: Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for both statutory and Group audits.

• General Ledger & Reconciliations: Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Related Party Transactions: Track, compute, and disclose related party transactions (RPT) and recurrent related party transactions (RRPT) in accordance with Bursa disclosure requirements.

• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax computations, deferred tax schedules, and coordination with tax agents for corporate tax filing and compliance.

• Internal Controls: Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data through adherence to internal controls, SOPs, and Group accounting policies.

• Variance & Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis between actual, budget, and prior period results, and highlight significant deviations to the Accounts Manager.

• XBRL / Bursa LINK Submission: Prepare and submit financial statements in XBRL format via Bursa LINK, ensuring accuracy and compliance with taxonomy requirements.

• Cross-Functional Liaison: Liaise with subsidiary finance teams, company secretary, tax agents, and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate consolidated reporting.
