Technician - Mechanical

*Job purpose*
Plan, control, and perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance works for all mechanical static equipment, perform trouble shooting and rectifying equipment problem which require core skills in mechanical works to ensure the plants equipment are running in safe and reliable condition.
To assist in performing electrical and instrument task related to mechanical equipment to ensure integrity, reliability and safety of the equipment to optimize availability.

*Key accountabilities*
1) Work planning & coordination
Plan and control all mechanical static maintenance activities, allocate resources and review work assignment prepared by subordinates

2) Maintenance work
Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical static equipment such as fired and unfired pressure vessels, storage tanks, pipes and fittings following established work processes and operating procedures
Perform trouble shooting on mechanical equipment
Perform maintenance and repairs at all multistage pumps, standby generators etc. And prepare report.
Initiate purchase requisition for spares and materials and carry out inspection of spares and materials by suppliers
Perform isolation work on mechanical equipment prior to inspection and maintenance

3) Standby/call out
Respond to standby/call out for emergency/urgent repairs outside working hours and make necessary work adjustment and shutdown action.

4) Supervisory functions
Provide supervision or guidance to other technician/contractors in performing the related task for mechanical team
Liaise between the team leader, mechanical work coordinator, engineers, technologists and manager for all related maintenance work for smooth implementation
Liaise with subject matter expert (sme) of disciplines, on technical issues, troubleshooting and repairs
Contribute in developing or reviewing procedure

5) Capability development
Conduct on-the job (OJT) training for junior technicians
Provide guidance and develop lower grade staff for instrument career progression in the plant

6) additional non-core tasks
Perform additional non-core tasks as per multitask mechanical static POSS.

*Qualification*
Possess a recognize relevant mechanical diploma from recognize institution or
Possess certificate from instep or any equivalent certificate approved by petronas.
Possesses valid relevant certificates or competencies where applicable.

*Experience*
Minimum 8 years experience in oil refining and /or petrochemical plant operation
Good theoretical and practical knowledge of all aspects of the plants.
Possesses good trouble shooting skills and must be resourceful and able to evaluate unusual circumstances.
Must be conversant with hse standards, rules and regulations, ms iso 9001:2000, ms iso 14001, procedures and company policies.
Possess good written and verbal communication skill.
