Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician specializing in chemical testing, sample preparation, and report generation. The role involves collecting and analyzing samples, ensuring precise testing procedures, and maintaining laboratory operations to meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

*

• Conduct comprehensive analyses of water samples, including physical, chemical, and microbiological assessments.

*

• Perform tests on ores, minerals, soils, aggregates, concrete, and scale samples, adhering to established protocols.

*

• Operate laboratory instruments such as pH, EC, TDS meters, UV-visible spectrophotometers, ovens, furnaces, incubators, and fusion devices.

*

• Prepare reagents and standard solutions, ensuring their proper calibration and standardization for accurate results.

*

• Handle and store chemicals following safety data sheet (SDS) guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

*

• Manage calibration routines for glassware and analytical equipment to guarantee precision in testing.

*

• Execute both qualitative and quantitative tests on various substances using standard methods.

*

• Generate detailed test reports, ensuring data accuracy and quality assurance before submission to clients.

*

• Coordinate sample collection and testing activities at client sites or in laboratory settings, following international and internal standards.

*

• Participate in field testing activities, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards and safety regulations.

*

• Collaborate with team members to meet project timelines and maintain laboratory workflow efficiency.

*

• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal operation.

*

• Engage with clients during witnessed testing procedures, providing professional communication and support.

*

• Assist with other departmental tasks as needed to support organizational goals and annual targets.

*

• Drive to client locations for sample collection or testing, maintaining punctuality and safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

*

• Possess a diploma or degree in chemistry or a related field, with a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.

*

• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure, including flexible shift work if required.

*

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

*

• Solid mathematical aptitude and familiarity with laboratory calculations.

*

• Hands-on experience with testing equipment operation and laboratory safety procedures.
