Join Our Team as a QC/QMR Executive!
At Hunter Douglas Malaysia (HDM), we take pride in delivering world-class products with uncompromising quality. We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Quality Control Executive to join our dynamic team.
What You’ll Do:
Quality Management Representative (QMR)
- Manage the Document Control Centre, including amending, distributing, retrieving, and maintaining all archived documents
- Plan and conduct internal audits twice a year, review audit reports, issue NCRs where required, and verify corrective actions prior to NCR closure.
- Provide ISO-related training when audits do not cover all clauses and conduct annual assessments for internal auditors.
- Report audit findings and quality performance during Management Review Meetings (MGM).
- Liaise with external certification bodies on ISO 9001:2015 audits, product certification audits (FL00061 / FL00053 / FL00054 / FL00073), and Eco Labelling.
- Organise Management Review Meetings twice a year, compile inputs from department heads, present findings, and prepare meeting minutes.
- Liaise with external authorities such as SIRIM and BOMBA for quotations, product audits, testing, and certification (Part 6 & 7 Class 0).
- Update and maintain the ISO Quality Manual and Procedure Manuals to reflect current scope and practices.
Quality Control (QC)
- Oversee and ensure effective execution of all quality activities, including Incoming, In-Process, and Outgoing Inspections.
- Review and monitor inspection sheets daily to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure all measuring and testing equipment are calibrated as per the calibration schedule.
- Maintain and update calibration records for all equipment.
- Provide training to staff responsible for inspection and testing activities.
- Provide technical support for new product development and project implementation.
- Conduct QC inspections and activities as required, including Supplier Quality Audits (SQA) at company or at customer sites.
- Prepare color standards requested by Sales or Customer Service teams.
- Check physical properties and color matching for coils from inventory (including salvage stock) to fulfill customer orders.
- Adjust LX paint formulations to ensure Delta E color variance is within acceptable limits.
- Prepare Material Specifications for painted coils and fabrics supplied to overseas customers to support Customs Clearance requirements upon arrival.
- Prepare Material Specifications for other overseas materials as required.
Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Responsibilities
- Serve as the Competent Person for Schedule Waste, ensuring compliance with DOE regulations for waste storage, labelling, and disposal.
- Oversee the Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations to ensure discharge meets environmental standards.
- Maintain records and compliance for Poison License and other regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Diploma/Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Polymer Technology or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in quality control, ideally within a manufacturing or coating environment.
- Competent Person certification for Scheduled Waste Management, Water Treatment Plant operations, and Poison License compliance will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and audit processes.
- Strong knowledge of color properties, inspection procedures, and quality documentation.
- Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently.
