Role Summary

The System Analyst (SA) plays a critical role in bridging business requirements and technical implementation. This role is responsible for transforming business needs into clear, structured system requirements and functional specifications, ensuring that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.

The System Analyst works closely with Business Analysts, UI/UX, Developers, QA, Operations, and Support teams throughout the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) / Agile Development from requirement elicitation to solution validation, UAT, and deployment support.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirements Analysis & Solution Definition

o Analyse business requirements gathered by Business Analysts and stakeholders to identify system impacts, dependencies, risks, and feasibility.

o Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications, ensuring completeness and lack of ambiguity.

o Produce and maintain key documentation such as: API and Data Process flows (as‐is / to‐be)

§ Data mappings and validation rules

§ Support Guides and Playbook (BCP, Table-Top)

• Functional & Technical Documentation

o Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation using standard templates ensuring consistency and clarity across projects.

o Integration touchpoints (internal and external systems)

o Non‐functional requirements (performance, security, auditability)

o Ensure documentation remains up‐to‐date throughout requirement changes and enhancements.

• Collaboration with Business Analyst Teams and UI/UX Designer to.

o Ensures that Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), Use Cases, Test Scenarios are clear, valuable and align with the objective of the project.

o Ensure that clear user journeys are agreed and exceptional workflows are identified before UI/UX design.

• Collaboration with Development Teams. Work closely with software developers to:

o Clarify requirements

o Answer functional and technical questions

o Validate proposed solutions against requirements

o Participate in solution walkthroughs, design discussions, and system impact reviews.

o Ensure systems are built according to agreed specifications and architectural standards.

• Testing & Solution Validation. Support test planning by defining.

o Test scenarios

o Test cases

o Acceptance criteria

o Actively support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including:

§ Clarifying expected outcomes

§ Assisting users in defect validation

§ Analysing root causes of defects

§ Verify that delivered solutions meet business and system requirements, performance threshold, security and auditability before sign‐off.

• Implementation & Post‐Go‐Live Support

o Assist in deployment activities including release validation and post‐implementation checks.

o Support the transition to Operations and Support teams by:

§ Providing functional walkthroughs

§ Preparing user guides and system documentation

§ Knowledge transfer sessions

§ Table-top Exercises

• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

o Act as a key liaison between business users, IT teams, vendors, and support teams.

o Facilitate requirement clarification sessions, solution walkthroughs, and UAT briefings.

o Communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders remotely and onsite.

Requirements

Technical & Analytical Skills

• Strong understanding of: System design concepts
• Databases and data structures
• Application integrations and APIs
• Ability to analyse complex business processes and translate them into logical system requirements.
• Experience working with enterprise systems and multi‐system environments.
• Ability to read source code created by other developers.

Functional & Documentation Skills

• Proven experience producing high‐quality functional specifications and system documentation.
• Strong logical thinking, attention to detail, and structured problem‐solving skills

Communication & Collaboration

• Able to work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‐technical users.
• Comfortable working in cross‐functional and multi‐stakeholder environments remotely and onsite.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a System Analyst, Application Analyst, or Developer, with proven project management exposure.
• Strong foundation in: SQL & NoSQL databases
• Programming logic and APIs
• System architecture concepts
• Cloud fundamentals
• Skilled in writing TSDs, interpreting FSDs, and managing projects end-to-end.

Preferred:

• Experience in retail, payments, POS, or enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, microservices, and cloud platforms.
• Vendor management and project leadership experience.

Pay: RM4,800.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
