Role Description

Sonovision Malaysia is seeking a motivated Computer Science / IT graduate to join our team under the PROTÉGÉ Program as a Application Support & Digitalization Executive.

The role is designed to provide structured, hands-on exposure to aviation digitalization projects, with a strong focus on Maintenance Information System, data migration, and digital operations support. The successful candidate will support controlled and live data migration activities, assist in digital tools administration (JIRA and Confluence), and progressively gain functional understanding of aviation systems and client operations.

Cross‑functional exposure is incorporated to ensure holistic professional development rather than task‑based deployment. This position offers a 12-month structured training and on-the-job learning programmed, combining technical, professional, and employability skill development aligned with industry and government requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Migration & Digital Operations

· Support data migration activities within the MIS system, including data preparation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation.

· Assist in verifying data accuracy, completeness, and consistency before and after migration.

· Ensure proper handling of sensitive and aviation-related data in compliance with data integrity and security requirements.

· Maintain clear documentation of migration activities, data decisions, and outcomes.

2. Client Coordination & Communication

· Communicate with clients to confirm data-related actions such as merging, retaining, editing, or deleting, based on defined migration rules.

· Coordinate iterative communication with clients via email or virtual meetings to clarify data requirements and changes.

· Engage with international clients across different time zones when required; flexible working hours may apply during critical migration phases.

3. Digital Tools & Systems Support

· Support operational use of Atlassian JIRA, including tickets status update which requires tracking, and coordination with internal teams.

· Use Confluence User Manuals to understand more on AIR22 in customer’s perspective and propose ideas if anything needs to be change or update or adding new FAQ. Might need to support different language version by using proper translation tools.

· Assist with file transfers and system access using tools such as:

o  Remote access platforms (e.g. Splashtop)

o  FTP clients (e.g. FileZilla)

o  Secure hosting or shared platforms for large datasets

4. MIS Functional Learning

· Learn and apply key MIS functionalities through real operational use cases.

· Support internal demonstrations, testing activities, and operational troubleshooting under guidance.

· Gradually build functional understanding of aviation maintenance data and enterprise system workflows.

Cross Functional Exposure & Support

During periods of work fluctuation, the trainee may be required to provide temporary and supervised support to other related functions such as Maintenance Program, Quality, or where relevant.

This is intended to provide broader exposure to aviation operational processes, enhance professional development, and strengthen understanding of how digitalization supports end to end business functions.

Any such assignments will be aligned with the trainee’s learning objectives under the PROTÉGÉ program

Technical Requirements

· Basic knowledge of remote access tools and file transfer mechanisms (e.g. FTP, large dataset handling).

· Familiarity with Excel, SQL, or similar tools for data review, validation, and reporting.

· Comfortable working with structured data (CSV, spreadsheets, large databases).

· Exposure to JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms is an advantage but not mandatory.

· If you don’t possess any of listed above, don’t worry if you have willingness to learn

Domain Knowledge (Training Provided)

The candidate will be progressively exposed to aviation domain fundamentals, including:

· Aircraft models and configurations

· Engine types (jet, turboprop)

· Aviation terminology related to parts, tools, and consumables

No prior aviation experience is required but passion in aviation is required; structured learning will be provided.
