Senior Specialist, APAC Supply Chain Customs Solutions & Compliance

We are partnering with a leading multinational organization in the supply chain and logistics sector to appoint a Senior Specialist, APAC Supply Chain Customs Solutions & Compliance. This is a strategic role responsible for driving customs excellence, regulatory compliance, and trade optimization initiatives across the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities

Customs Solutions

• Lead and maintain a global tariff classification database covering countries with manufacturing operations.
• Monitor and analyze domestic and international customs regulations and trade policy developments; assess business impact and implement effective customs solutions.
• Drive optimization of trade processes through ERP systems and digital tools to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Compliance & Governance

• Establish and continuously enhance the internal customs compliance control framework.
• Oversee import and export compliance activities to ensure adherence to regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead customs audits, risk assessments, and compliance risk mitigation initiatives across the APAC region.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or above.
• Preferred disciplines: International Trade, Logistics Management, Customs Administration, Law, or related fields.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in APAC supply chain customs operations and import/export compliance.
• Proven hands-on operational experience and regulatory knowledge across multiple APAC markets (e.g., Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, South Korea).

Professional Expertise

• Strong knowledge of tariff classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) utilization.
• Solid understanding of customs clearance procedures in Singapore and ASEAN countries, bonded warehouse management, and Free Trade Zone policies.
• Strong risk management mindset with experience leading or supporting customs audits and internal compliance initiatives.
• Professional certifications such as CCS, CTCS, or Certified Customs Specialist will be an added advantage.
