JOB SUMMARY
- Studying, identifying and proposing improvement works to the distribution system for reliable and resilient water supply.
- Proposing mitigation plan / alternative supply between different water sources to reduce the impact of water disruption on consumers.
- Carrying out study and hydraulic analysis in distribution network for various scenarios based on measured data.
- Analyzing the existing and future water distribution system by considering on the new development factor for planning purposes.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main roles and responsibilities
- Carrying out analysis on the existing distribution system that facing a low water pressure issue and subsequently suggest improvements works:
1.Flow capacity analysis
2.Activation / maximization of strategic reservoirs
3.Recommendation to make use unutilized assets
4.Rezoning of water supply
- Studying and proposing alternative water supply / mitigation plan for decommissioning of WTPs
- Studying and proposing the interconnectivity between different water sources (Water Grid) to ensure a minimum impact to the consumers during water disruption
- Proposing the water supply for new developments (list of development is provided by Development Section):
1.Proposed interim supply for new development
2.Proposed pipe upgrading for new scheme / pressure improvement
- Responding all Development Section on tapping points for Developments requiring more than 1MLD and IWSS
- Studying and proposing new water supply infrastructure (reservoir / elevated water tank / pump house) within Ais Selangor vacant land (gazette as Simpanan Bekalan Air) for storage improvement to cater future demand
- Proposing a utilization of Langat 2 Phase 1 Scheme towards the existing distribution system and responding on technical aspects / issues for Langat 2 Phase 1:
1.Site inspection for DLP
2.Review / comments on technical drawings
- Providing input on technical aspects / issues for Langat 2 Phase 2
- Updating the Water Balance for each region in twice a year:
1.Process data of WTPs’ production, NRW
2.Filtering data from Development (big demand > 1MLD, IWSS
3.Demand projection (current, future, ultimate)
4.Produce Water Balance Table
- Studying on water supply extension to Luar Bandar and Orang Asli:
1.Compiling the list and submit to Kementerian Pembangunan Luar Bandar (KPLB)
2.Advising / providing necessary information to KPLB
3.Conducting a site visit to the areas
4.Proposing the source of water supply
- Conducting the analysis on the existing WTPs efficiency:
1.Decommission
2.Redistribution
3.Upgrading
- Attending Kajian Rancangan Kawasan Tempatan / Khas under Plan Malaysia, city council
- Responding and advising on technical aspects / issues for Authorities such as JKR, ECRL, WCE, SUKE, city council
- Proposing the budget estimation (CAPEX), Preparing PDS and PRC paper for SPI2; Improvement to Asset Reliability & Resilience
- Preparing cost estimation for proposed improvement works under Planning Section
- Producing a hydraulic profile for distribution pipes and make recommendation on propose improvement works
- Updating PCW monthly report
- Preparing KPI Water Analyst 1
- Responding on AIS Holding’s application including Telco application, Renewal Energy
- Other task as instructed by Management

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical Engineering and equivalent
- Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience in planning water supply system
- Computer literate (Microsoft Words, Excel & PowerPoint)
- Knowledge in hydraulic analysis software
- Knowledge in water distribution system
