TASK

• Reservation requests from children / parents / teachers

• Engage with and support children in the library during lunch and break times

• Keep the resource room tidy and assist teachers in finding resources

• Ensure Library rules and regulations are adhered to by Library users

• Ensure a safe and conducive atmosphere in the Library

• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve the Library

MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Diploma in Library Science and Information Science

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

• Very good level of spoken and written English. Good communication skills.

• Knowledge of international cataloguing and classification standards

• Knowledge of cataloguing rules

• Knowledge of an Integrated Library Management System

• Interpersonal skills - ability to interact with children, teachers and parents and with individuals outside GIS

• Organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, deal efficiently with conflicting deadlines, prioritise workloads and execute tasks at short notice

• IT skills: confident in using Google (Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides) as well as Microsoft Office software

• Be flexible, punctual and meticulous

• To be able to work independently as well as being a good team player

• Have a forward thinking attitude and be willing to learn.

• Be proactive, working closely and cooperatively under the instruction of the full-time librarians.
