Role Description
The QA Tester / Software Testing Specialist is responsible for testing software applications, identifying defects, and ensuring systems meet quality, functionality, and performance standards before deployment. This role supports software development and product teams through test planning, defect tracking, system validation, and continuous quality improvement to deliver reliable and user-friendly digital solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing manual and automated testing for software applications, platforms, and system features
- Developing and executing test cases, test scripts, and testing scenarios based on business requirements
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs, defects, and performance issues
- Collaborating with developers, product managers, and technical teams on issue resolution and release readiness
- Supporting regression testing, integration testing, UAT, API testing, and performance testing activities
- Monitoring software quality metrics, testing coverage, and defect management KPIs
- Maintaining testing documentation, defect reports, and quality assurance records
- Supporting test automation initiatives and CI/CD testing workflows where applicable
- Assisting with process improvement and software quality optimization programs
- Ensuring compliance with software quality standards, release procedures, and operational guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
- 1–5 years of experience in software testing, QA operations, application support, or quality assurance roles
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices
- Experience with bug tracking systems, test management tools, and QA documentation processes
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Postman, or similar platforms is advantageous
- Basic understanding of SQL, APIs, Agile methodologies, and software development lifecycles
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced Agile or development environments
- Experience in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, logistics, gaming, or e-commerce environments is an advantage
