Salary: RM4,000 – RM4,500 (negotiable based on experience)

Critical Allowance: RM150


WORKING SCHEDULE:

• 5.5 working days per week

• Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

• Weekend rotation (Saturday or Sunday): 8:00am – 12:00pm



JOB PURPOSE:

The Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations using high-frequency sound waves to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating various medical conditions while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality imaging standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Care & Safety

  • Ensure patient safety before, during, and after procedures through proper care and monitoring.
  • Explain sonographic procedures to patients and address any concerns or questions.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for ultrasound examinations.

Sonography & Imaging Procedures

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound and sonographic procedures independently.
  • Apply ultrasound gel and operate sonographic equipment accurately.
  • Program and adjust ultrasound scanners according to examination requirements.
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic images from required angles and sections.
  • Evaluate image quality and make necessary adjustments for accurate diagnostic purposes.

Equipment Handling & Maintenance

  • Maintain proper care of ultrasound equipment and related accessories.
  • Report any equipment faults or breakdowns immediately to the Head of Radiology.
  • Record equipment issues in log books and/or CMMS systems to ensure uninterrupted services.

Clinical Support

  • Assist physicians by providing quality imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Support departmental operations and perform duties assigned by the Head of Radiology.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or Degree in Sonography OR Diploma in Radiography or related field with additional certification in Sonography
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Sonography
  • Hospital or clinical experience is an added advantage
