Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

• Review construction plans to accurately prepare quantity requirements for project execution.
• Analyze maintenance and material costs and scrutinize contracts to secure optimal deals and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment and timely communication.
• Prepare detailed reports, cost analyses, contracts, budgets, and risk assessments to support project decision-making.
• Monitor material inventory levels and coordinate timely ordering to prevent project delays.
• Document design changes and update budgets accordingly to maintain financial control.
• Travel to various construction sites as needed to perform measurements and oversee project progress.
• Conduct bill of quantities and measurement tasks to ensure accurate project costing.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying.
• Construction estimating experience of at least 2 years is advantageous.
• Knowledge of construction processes and materials.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills applied to cost control and project evaluation.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to organize, plan, and strategize project resources and timelines.
• Effective networking skills to build and maintain professional contacts.
