Job Purpose

Lead the analytics function to turn business priorities into decision-ready insights, action-oriented analytics, and scalable AI-enabled solutions that improve growth, profitability, and execution discipline across Sun Life Malaysia.

This role oversees business analysis and analytics demand translation, drives insight generation and business performance management, and ensures that analytics is embedded into day-to-day decision-making. The role also leads the AI Creator stream under Analytics to convert selected business opportunities into deployable AI use cases.

Responsibilities

Lead the analytics agenda aligned to business priorities

Lead the design, build, testing, and deployment of AI solutions for priority business use cases across distribution, operations, client, and strategy. Ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned to business value.

Drive business analysis, insight generation, and action translation

Oversee business requirement gathering, KPI interpretation, performance analysis, and deep-dive diagnostics to convert data into clear business insights, action plans, and intervention opportunities.

Embed analytics into management routines and business decisions

Ensure analytics outputs are integrated into leadership forums, performance reviews, and operating cadences so that decisions are supported by trusted data and timely insights.

Develop team capability and delivery discipline

Lead, coach, and develop the analytics and business analysis team, ensuring strong delivery quality, stakeholder engagement, and continuous skill building.

Partner across business and functions to drive value realization

Collaborate with business, data, digital, IT, and operations teams to ensure analytics solutions are actionable, adopted, and linked to measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
• Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
• 10+ years of relevant experience in analytics, business performance, strategy, consulting, or related functions
• Strong experience leading analytics or business analysis teams
• Proven track record in translating analytics into business decisions and value outcomes
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders and supporting management forums
• Exposure to AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives is an added advantage
• Insurance or financial services experience is preferred
