1. Education

  •  Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or any related field
  •  Degree holders in a relevant field are a plus

2. Experience

  •  0–2 years of working experience in sales, business development, customer service, or related field
  •  Experience in events, retail, or mall operations is a bonus

3. Skills & Competencies

  •  Strong communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English (spoken and written)
  •  Confident and professional phone/WhatsApp manner — not afraid of cold calling
  •  Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive)
  •  Organised and detail-oriented — able to manage multiple mall prospects simultaneously
  •  Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  •  Reliable and punctual — able to meet deadlines consistently

4. Skills & Competencies

  •  Own transport and valid driving licence (for site visits and mall meetings)
  •  Experience with CRM tools or Google Sheets for pipeline tracking
  •  Basic knowledge of event management or retail promotions

Riaz Group (M) Sdn Bhd is an event management and promotional space company that partners with shopping malls across Malaysia. We secure promotional spaces in malls and connect them with vendors looking to showcase and sell their products. Our mission is to create vibrant marketplace experiences that drive foot traffic for malls and sales for vendors.

We are looking for an energetic and driven Business Development Executive to join our growing BD team. You will work to identify, contact, and secure promotional spaces in shopping malls across Malaysia. This is a front-line role that involves outreach, relationship building, negotiation support, and site visits.

This role is ideal for someone who is a confident communicator, enjoys meeting new people, is comfortable with cold outreach, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibility:

1.Mall Outreach & Prospecting

  • Conduct daily cold calls, WhatsApp messages, and emails to shopping mall leasing and marketing departments to introduce Riaz Group's services.
  • Research and identify new mall prospects across Malaysia, focusing on malls with high footfall and suitable promotional spaces.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of mall prospects using the Mall Pipeline Tracker.
  • Follow up persistently on pending enquiries, proposals, and negotiations.

2. Relationship Building

  • Build and nurture relationships with mall leasing officers, marketing managers, and operations teams
  • Conduct site visits to assess promotional space suitability, layout, foot traffic, and logistical requirements
  • Represent Riaz Group professionally during meetings, presentations, and site visits
  • Maintain regular contact with existing mall partners to explore future event opportunities

3. Proposal & Negotiation Support

  • Preparing event proposals and presentation materials for mall pitches
  • Support LOA (Letter of Agreement) negotiations by gathering pricing, date availability, and space specifications from malls
  • Coordinate on event concepts and pricing before presenting to malls
  • Ensure all proposals are sent within 48 hours of initial mall interes

4. Event Support

  • Assist with on-site event setup and coordination when required
  • Attend events to build rapport with mall management and gather feedback for future improvements
  • Support the team with ad-hoc tasks during peak event periods
