Hiring: Quality Assurance (QA) Manager - Food Manufacturing

Location: Batu Pahat, Johor.

Desa Southern Food Products Sdn. Bhd. is an established halal food manufacturer with a strong presence in Malaysia’s FMCG sector, specialising in preserved fruits and nuts products.

As part of our ongoing growth and commitment to food safety excellence, we are seeking a competent and experienced QA Manager to lead our Quality Assurance function and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading and maintaining Food Safety Management Systems, including FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and Halal compliance
• Managing external certification audits and customer audits, ensuring full audit readiness and timely closure of corrective actions (CARs)
• Overseeing regulatory compliance for Malaysia and export markets
• Driving internal audit programmes, mock recall exercises, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Managing customer complaints, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
• Reviewing and maintaining FSMS documentation and ensuring effective implementation across operations
• Leading, developing, and managing the QA team to achieve departmental objectives
• Preparing and presenting QA performance reports and KPIs to management
• Approve new raw materials and conduct supplier audits

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science & Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years of experience in QA/QC within food manufacturing (FMCG environment preferred)
• Mandatory experience in ISO 9001 and HACCP systems
• Experience with FSSC 22000 will be an added advantage
• Strong working knowledge of GMP and Halal requirements
• Proven track record in managing audits, certifications, and regulatory compliance
• Hands-on experience in internal auditing
• Strong critical thinking ability with high attention to detail
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
• A team-oriented leader with strong sense of accountability
