The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and presenting food according to the outlet’s standards. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cooking and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation
- Assist in preparing ingredients (e.g., chopping, cutting, marinating) as per recipes and instructions.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen tasks.
- Cooking & Plating
- Cook basic dishes under supervision.
- Ensure food presentation is clean and consistent.
- Kitchen Hygiene
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Stock Management
- Help check and store deliveries.
- Inform supervisor if ingredients are running low.
- Team Support
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Willingly assist in other sections when needed.
- Learning & Development
- Take instructions from senior chefs and learn kitchen procedures.
- Participate in training and follow company kitchen standards.
Requirements
- Education: Basic education or culinary training preferred.
- Experience: 0–2 years in a kitchen or F&B environment (training will be provided).
- Skills:
- Basic cooking knowledge
- Good teamwork and communication
- Able to work under pressure and during peak hours
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Standing for long hours in a hot kitchen environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
